Primitiv was founded by Calvin Johnson Jr. and Rob Sims, former NFL Detroit Lions teammates who share a deep passion for wellness and innovation. Inspired by their personal experiences with the physical and mental tolls of professional football, they created Primitiv to harness the healing power of cannabis.

Born from the determination and grit of Detroit, their mission is to craft products that inspire wellness while changing perceptions of cannabis. When Primitiv decided to expand its brand to Boston, Calvin and Rob reached out to their former teammate, Gosder Cherilus who has deep roots in greater Boston, to operate the group’s downtown location (200 High Street). Products include its flagship Primitiv brand and TURF – offering guests a variety of quality cannabis flower, pre-rools, gummies and concentrates.

Our 12,000-square-foot grow facility—one of the most sophisticated in the state—features 3,600 square feet of canopy space and the capacity to cultivate over 2,000 plants at a time.
